The tournament is governed by the official rules issued by the Nordic Chess Federation (in danish), and the play must follow the FIDE laws of chess with the following amendments:
Rate of play
For each player 90 minutes per game with an additional 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
A player arriving at the chess board later than 60 minutes after the announced start of the round will lose the game as stated in article 6.7 of the Laws of chess.
Cell phones and other technical devices
No players are allowed to carry such equipment in the playing area. It should be left in the hotel room. This includes cell phones, smart watches and other technical devices.
If a player is found to carry such an item during play, he or she will forfeit the game.
Team line up
To be able to organize live coverage of the games, the organizer must be informed of the team line up at least 1 hour before the start of each round.
If no line up is sent, the default line up (reserve player not playing) will be used.
In case of sudden illness or simliar events, which the head arbiter may accept, the line up can be changed.
